1. Hyderabad

Hyderabad, known as the City of the Nawabs, is a city that exudes an old-world charm of its own while still coexisting with the rapidly growing onslaught of commercialization in perfect harmony. Hyderabad is home to old mosques and bazaars lined parallel alongside swanky new office buildings and malls, and it is these very contrasts – these glimpses into the city’s rich past with inherent promises of an even better future – this is what exactly makes Hyderabad a city worth visiting.

Hyderabad is very famous for being home to the Ramoji Film City, which is the largest film studio complex in the entire world. Hyderabad had better political stability, health care, education, law and order and recreation.

Hyderabad is not the cheapest but the most friendly and suggested destination all over India.

2. Kodaikanal & Ooty

Kodaikanal is a beautiful hill station, famous for its breathtaking landscapes and refreshing atmosphere. No matter you travel different hill stations all over India, You will never forget about this place. You can get rooms ranging as low as Rs. 500 and one should definitely try the awesome street foods.

Every kind of cocoa butter goodness is available in Ooty, made locally and sold at rates lower than the Delhi Winter temperature! The hills are lovely, there’s the Fernhills palace to explore and Kodi’s just a few stops away. Ooty is full of Chocolate Chocolate and Chocolate.

Nature has blessed Kodaikanal with some wonderful places where you can capture nature in your eyes and breathe in its captivating beauty. Some of the best places in Kodaikanal to witness its natural beauty are Pillar Rocks, Silver Cascade Falls, Dolphins Nose, Moir Point.

3. Goa

I personally suggest Goa is the most friendliest place in India I have ever known.

14

Goa is a place well known for its unique lifestyle and safest nightlife.Do what you want to and wear what you want to. Goa is much cheaper than any of the other cities I have talked about. Food and stay is cheaper than any other tourist destination in India.

Goa is probably the best place to stay if you’re an expat. Many residents as well as tourists, and it was a Portuguese hub for very long. When you are in Goa, you can find the cheapest of accommodation options, rent a bike and roam around, eat at small yet incredible food joints, spend hours on the beach, take a dip in the sea and also, consume very cheap liquor.

4. Pondicherry

What makes Pondicherry so special is that you get an Indian town that is not as huge and sprawling as other metropolises, with the colorful, vibrant markets including a fish market where wonderful seafood can be had at a reasonable price.

Some of the famous Pondicherry tourist places are Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Rock Beach, Ousteri Lake, VaradarajaPerumal Temple etc. Not only do you get to earn your keep, you also get to experience a natural way of living that money can’t buy. For nature lovers too, Pondicherry is a serene retreat replete with various beaches and lakes that takes the breath away of the tourists on the first glimpse.

5. Coimbatore

Coimbatore-10109_12

Often termed as ‘Manchester of South India’, the city is photographically situated on the banks of River Noyyal and has an array of natural attractions. If you love the outdoors, Coimbatore will keep you engaged all the time. If you love to travel on weekends, then Coimbatore has many options for you without much planning to do. It is well connected to these destinations – Coonoor, Ooty, Valparai, Palakkad, Wayanad and many more.

Coimbatore

Camping and trekking are very popular things to do in Coimbatore, so if you’re looking for a thrill, don’t forget to check out the most exciting trekking trails that the city has to offer, such as the Dhoni Hills, the Vellari Mala, the Perumal Peak, and the Thalaiyar Falls trek.

6. Darjeeling

Darjeeling-Kanchenjunga

Lying in the lap of lesser Himalayas, Darjeeling is one of the most popular tourist spots in India. When most parts of India faces the sweltering heat of Indian summer, Darjeeling provides a cool retreat in the lap of nature. Besides being a mystic hill station, Darjeeling has many other aspects worth knowing.

Rangit Valley Ropeway in Darjeeling is the largest ropeway in Asia. A ride on this ropeway will take you to cloud nine literally as while riding on this ropeway you actually pass through clouds. Get friendly with the locals and hear the innumerable stories and ghost stories surrounding these estates. Chugging up to Darjeeling from New Jalpaiguri or Siliguri is a once in a lifetime experience.

7. Alleppey

Housboat-Alleppey-Railrestro
Popularly known as the Venice of the East, Alleppey or Alappuzha is famous for its exotic backwaters, sun kissed beaches, stunning boat races and rich coir industry. Strike up a conversation with some of the local fishermen and they’ll even lend you their own OG kayaks so you can go exploring on your own for a meagre 100INR.

8. Pune

Pune may not be the cheapest destination, but surely is a awesome place to visit for its vast culture. A city with a cosmopolitan nature, prominence as education hub, established IT/ITeS center of the country and growing prominence as manufacturing industries, Pune is a Tier-II city that desperately wants to join the ranks of Tier-I cities. People here are very educated and friendly and city is quite cosmopolitan in nature as you find people from all around India and foreigners too.

Pune has been selected as the second best Indian city to live in,considered as the cultural capital of Maharashtra

9. Amritsar

Amritsar is a paradise for random tourists, devout believers, and the countless food-lovers. This city must be visited not only for the beautiful Golden Temple but also to experience the oomph and patriotism at the Wagah Border.

I have lived there and I personally suggest to visit golden temple, stay at the Golden Temple for free and savor the langar. When you visit the Wagah border you are guaranteed goosebumps.

10. Cherrapunjee, Megalaya

I wonder why people exclude North east in their list of best destination or tourism.

One of the wettest places on earth, there are plenty of places to visit in Cherrapunji rich with bountiful rain and rivers that fall off the mountains in thunderous waterfalls. The region is also abundant with forests, natural caves, and a thriving flora and fauna. It’s truly a paradise on earth and the home of indigenous tribes and exotic cultures. A visit to Cherrapunji in the Indian state of Meghalaya will offer a unique perspective of the North Eastern region.

You will see “natural” living bridges made from roots of ancient trees, get pleasantly drenched in Cherrapunjee, or even get up at 4 in the morning for some sumptuous local breakfast.

Bonus: Dharmshala

Himalaya_s-view-from-Dharamshala-

Pathankot is the nearest broad gauge railway terminal to Dharamshala. As I have lived in Pathankot for 5 years, i can strongly say Dharmshala is the mini Scotland of India.

This place is certainly like heaven on earth! It is a small place situated on a single road. Has a nice little market with lots of collectibles. One of the main points to look out for is the Dharamshala bus stand, the view from there is simply breathtaking and is also the connection to Mcleodganj which is at a higher altitude. The people here are very hospitable and kind. One of the good restaurants this place is known for is, Midtown.

For those who love treks, be sure to try Triund trek and camp. So, if you are looking for some adventurous cheap trips in India, you sure can count on Dharamsala for a 3 days trip.
