      1. Wow… that is interesting having lived in North America, traveled lived in many states, and being a teacher it had always been “Papaya.” Although, I have never traveled to the Caribbean, it’s Dream Vacation place. I can see how it would be looked as “Pawpaw” by dropping “ya” which makes “yah” sound. I love ❤️ either way.

    1. Papaya does not cure Dengue*, if you have been infected for the first time then you will easily develop antibodies and will start feeling better. Papaya only acts by increasing the platelet which decreases during the infection. If it severe then papaya will do nothing.

  1. Thanks for this post Chiru. You have cleared the pros and Con’s clearly. Greatly beneficial as ever.

And it is the juice extracted from the papaya leaves (which of course tastes yuck) which increases the count of platelet in our blood which helps in curing Dengue fever. The platelet count is affected badly in Dengue and in some severe case of Malaria fever.
And many of the doctor practitioners of allopathic medicine recommend this as a home remedy.
    Hope this helps.
