Prosopis cineraria(Vanni leaf)

The Vanni is helpful to pregnant women and can prevent miscarriage. It is used to treat a variety of other ailments such as asthma, bronchitis, dysentery, leucoderma, leprosy, muscle tremors and piles. It is used for the treatment of vertigo and as a brain tonic. It is also useful in productive cough, asthma, chest congestion.

FACT: Vanni tree is highly revered among Hindus and worshiped as part of dussehra festival. On the 10th day of Dussehra festival, the leaves are distributed among one another to share mutual love and forget past bitterness. These species has a life expectancy of 200 years.

  1. This is the first time I have heard about this life…what is it colloquially called as….any idea. But good share….lot of things we take for granted are of medicinal value which our forefathers knew but in the pride of our knowledge we let go of like Ayurveda medicine. It’s still considered the most accurate science without any side effects.

    1. yes you are right.. Our ancestors were great.. they found medicinal benefit in every plant near us but they did not document it well or in a other way patent it.. Current generation will never know the ancient benefit actually doesn’t care…..

        Our ancestors were great they found benefits out of every available plant in the world..
